|Charles R. "Tooter" Thompson, 39, of Galesburg died at 7:07 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 in Galesburg.
He was born July 10, 1972 in Galesburg the son of Charles R. Williams Jr. and Mitzi V. Thompson. He married Stacy K. Kenney on October 16, 2010 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is his father, Charles R. Williams Jr. of Galesburg; his mother, Mitzi (Jeffrey) Enloe of Galesburg; two sons, Chaz Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa and Charles (Little T) Thompson of Woodhull, Ill.; four daughters, Jenae and Jasmyne Knowles both of Fla., Sierra Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa and McKenzie Bailey of Galesburg; a step daughter, Sabrina Johnson of Galesburg; his grandparents, Bob and Kay Thompson of New Windsor, Ill. and Charles Williams and Toni Hollowell, both of Galesburg; his brother, Heath Williams of Davenport, Iowa and a sister, Tia Williams of East Moline, Ill. He is preceded in death by a brother, Todd Thompson in 1974.
Tooter had just completed truck driving certifications and was employed at Western Express. Before that he worked as a farm hand and for Burlington Northern Railroad. He attended ROWVA High School, where he played football and was a part of the All American Football team. He was baptized in the Baptist faith. He enjoyed reading, fishing and was an avid Bears football fan.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Rick Shriber and Rev. Tyson Parks will officiate. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Cremation will follow services. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
