Nicaise, Richard F.
Richard F. Nicaise, age 72, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:40 P.M. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

He was born on July 3, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Frederick and Eleanor Benson Nicaise. He was raised and educated in Lewistown, Illinois. He services in the Untied State Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He married Sylvia A. Keefer on August 15, 1961 in Yates City, Illinois. She survives of Galesburg, Illinois

Surviving are two daughters: Robin (Scott) Beversdorf of Owatonna, Minnesota and Heidy Roberts of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. One son: Steve (Bernice) Nicaise of Roseville, California. Seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Zachary, and Amanda Beversdorf; Michael Richard Nicaise; Zachary Peters; Brendon and Trevor Roberts. One great granddaughter: Lillian Beversdorf. Two sisters: Juanita (John) Chiovaro of Des Moines, Iowa and Barbara Nicaise of Cucamonga, California. One brother: David (Bonnie) Howerter of Lewistown, Illinois. Many nieces and Nephews. His dog, Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father: Ralph Howerter; three brothers, Elroy, Donald, and Fred; and one sister, Linda.

He worked for Gates Rubber Company for 39 years, retiring in March of 2001.

He enjoyed Bowling, Tennis, Ping Pong and Golfing at Bunker Links Golf Course. He had a great love for animals and supported the Humane Society. He was an avid Bears and Cubs Fan.

Cremation Rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Home of Richard Nicaise at 205 Phillips Street in Galesburg, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
