Tomlinson, Sandra Lea
Sandra Lea Tomlinson, 68, of 2752 180th St., Galesburg, Ill., died at 12:45a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at her home.

She was born on August 17, 1943 in Pekin, Ill. to Clarence W. and Ethel M. Qualkinbush Shallenberger. She married Charles Tomlinson on September 3, 1975 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Scott Newman of Creve Coeur, Ill., Charles Jr. and Tracy Welty-Tomlinson of Galesburg, Christopher and Myrna Tomlinson of Davenport, Iowa, Bruce Onstad of Galesburg and Eric and Misty Tomlinson of Cabot, Ark.; three daughters, Christine and Jeffrey Dhabalt of Woodhull, Ill., Charlene and Phillip Alfaro of Galesburg and Michelle and Zachary Onstad Kidd of Wataga, Ill.; five brothers, Larry Moore of Eureka Springs, Ark., Clarence ( and Sally) Shallenberger, Ronald (and Theresa) Shallenberger, Darrell Shallenberger and Keith (and Debbie) Shallenberger, all of Pekin; a sister, Donna Tomlinson of North Pekin, Ill.; 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bruce and Bill Shallenberger.

Sandra Lea Tomlinson devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She obtained an associates degree in accounting after many years of factory work. Hardworking and very strong-willed she also successfully owned and operated her own beauty salon "The Hair Designers" on Cherry Street in Galesburg. Later on she continued as a beautician working at Knox County Nursing Home.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Glendale Memorial Gardens, 18119 State Route 9, Pekin, Ill. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation.
