Hopkins, Marion E.
Marion E. Hopkins, 75 of St. Augustine, Illinois passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at 9:41 A.M. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Marion was born on July 8, 1937 in Fulton County, Illinois the son of John and Ruth (Davis) Hopkins. He served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Air Force. He later became a member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 in Abingdon, Illinois. He married Jacqueline Haynes on February 19, 2010 in Monmouth, Illinois. She survives him of St. Augustine, Illinois.

He is also survived by his 3 children; Teresa (Mike) Cozadd of Wataga, Illinois, Cindy Hopkins of Modesto, California and Jim Hopkins of Abingdon, Illinois, 6 step-children; Larry Trego of Monmouth, Illinois, Bobby Trego of Monmouth, Illinois, Rick Trego of Abingdon, Illinois, Jackie Davis of Roseville, Illinois, Mellissa Utsinger of St. Augustine, Illinois, and Krissy Wagher of Salem, Virginia, 3 grandchildren; Marcy Spring of Oneida, Illinois, Ryan Kisling of Ceres, California, and Kaitlin Kisling of Modesto, California, 2 great-grandchildren Hayden Spring and Lily Kisling. Marion is also survived by a sister Alice Courter of Elk Grove, California, former wives Linda Jameson and Marge Bowton, and numerous step grandchildren. Also surviving a special little friend Justine.

Marion is preceded by his parents, daughter Debbie Kisling, sister Elizabeth Hopkins, and wife Betty Trego.

He was a selfemployed logger and truck driver for most of his life. Later he worked for Norm and Jeff Wilcoxen and then Inness R & R.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 in Abingdon, Illinois. Per his request cremation rites will be accorded. The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
