Fields, Nalma Joan
Nalma Joan Fields, 85, of Glendale, AZ, formerly of North Henderson Illinois, died December 2, 2012 in Peoria, Arizona.

Nalma Joan Fields was born August 10, 1927 in North Henderson, the daughter of Simon Wesley and Leota Fields. She received her early education in North Henderson and graduated from Wheaton College in 1954.

She moved to Florida and taught two years, then returned to Illinois and taught in Little York. In 1962 she moved to Glendale, Arizona and where she taught at Littleton School in Cashion, retiring in 1988.

Her faith was of the utmost importance, she was a devout Christian and she faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Glendale. Nalma was a very quiet person and she will be dearly missed by all.

Nalmas family includes her sister, Gilda (Ralph) Malmgren of Glendale, AZ; sister-in-law, Runell Fields of Normal, IL; a cousin, Lois Lynch of Galesburg; two nieces; and three nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, brother Robert Fields and one nephew.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis, with the Rev. Dr. William Myers of Faith United Presbyterian Church, Monmouth officiating. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of the Valley.
