Forest Christ, 90, of Galesburg, Illinois, went home to be with the lord and his beloved wife Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 12:35 AM at the Heartland Health Care Center, in Galesburg.

Forest was born December 4, 1922 in Cazenovia, Illinois the son of William A. and Seraphine (Attig) Christ. He married Juanita Brotherton on December 21, 1946 in Peoria, Illinois. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2011.

Forest is survived by his three children; Michael Christ of California, Karen (David) Becker of Knoxville, and Carol (Stephen) Dean of Astoria, Illinois. He is also survived by two sisters; Wilda Quisenberry of Morton, Illinois and Opal (John) Murray of Galesburg, Illinois, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings; Viola Widmer, Francis Dredge, and Cleo Cover.

Forest was proud of his military service. He served his country during WWII as a member of the United States Air Force. He was part of the 455th Bombardment Group serving two years in Italy.

He worked for RG Laternals in Peoria, Illinois, Gates Rubber Company in Galesburg, Illinois, Kress Manufacturing in Brimfield, Illinois and he also drove the Bethany Baptist Church bus for over 12 years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Noon) at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. The Funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Friday directly after the visitation. Rev John Carlson of the Bethany Baptist Church will be officiating the services. Interment will take place in the Knoxville Cemtery, in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorial Donations may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church, Alzheimers Association, or to the Gorden Behrents Senior Center.
