Illini Hope to Keep Penn State in its Place
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Before it puts its undefeated Big Ten mark to the test against Michigan State and Purdue, Illinois has what you might think would be an easy home game Tuesday against Penn State.

But the Nittany Lions have a way with the Illini.

Penn State hasn't won a game in the Big Ten this season. The Nittany Lions are 8-7 and have lost three in a row.

But they've won their last three in Champaign.

The Illini are 11-5 and 3-0 in conference.

A low-scoring game seems likely. After relying on high scoring most of the season Illinois has rediscovered defense. The Illini have given up 51 points a game in their last two contests.

The Nittany Lions beat the Illini 38-33 last February.
