| Monmouth College Freshman Williams Named Women's Basketball Performer of the Week in MWC |
Scoring 32 percent of her team's points over a three game stretch earned Monmouth College freshman Zipporah Williams the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honor in women's basketball.
A 5-foot-10 forward, Williams averaged a double-double as the Fighting posted a 2-1 record for week.
In an 83-72 win over Knox on Tuesday, she posted her second double-double of the season, scoring a career-high 26 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor and hit 12-of-14 free throws to go with 13 rebounds. Williams then poured in a game-high 20 points in a 60-51 win over Lawrence Friday, just missing another double-double with nine rebounds. Williams, a Chicago native, wrapped up the week Saturday with another 20 point, nine rebound effort in a 69-59 loss to Carroll.
For the week, Williams averaged 22 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while shooting 64 percent from the floor.
