Rocky Moves Up, U-T Out in Associated Press Boys Basketball Poll
One Western Big Six boys basketball team dropped out while another moved up in this week's Associated Press state basketball polls.

United Township, which was ranked in last week's Class 4A poll, dropped out. The Panthers (12-4), which suffered losses against Moline and Maine South in the past week, received two votes for top ten consideration in the latest poll. There was a change at the top in 4A with new #1 Waukegan (15-3) and now #2 Chicago Whitney Young (12-3) switching places.

Champaign Centennial (16-0) remains the unanimous top-ranked team in Class 3A. Rock Island (14-4) moved up three spots this week to #7. Peoria Richwoods (15-2) remains at #5. Peoria Central (10-4) dropped four spots to #10.

Peoria Manual (12-4) is still #1 in Class 2A. The Rams received nine first-place votes. Chicago Hales Franciscan (14-2) and Winnebago (17-0) are tied for #2. Canton, which was #10 in last week's poll dropped out this week. The Little Giants received nine votes for top ten consideration.

Brimfield, which won the ICAC Tournament, is 18-0 and ranked #2 in Class 1A again this week. The Indians got three votes for the top spot, which belongs to Springfield Calvary (18-1). Calvary received nine votes for the #1 ranking. Orion (14-5), which was upset Tuesday night by Sherrard (58-54), moved up one spot to #5. Lewistown received four votes for consideration.
