High School Boys Basketball
Western Big Six Conference
Galesburg High School (14-7, 2-3) earned its first win against Moline (10-7, 2-3) at Wharton Fieldhouse since the 1997-98 season 45-34 Friday night. Victor Davis led the Silver Streaks with 20 points. Galesburg has now won seven straight games going into Saturday night's non-conference contest at Rockford East (7:06 pregame on 92.7 FM). Moline beat Galesburg in the sophomore game 61-48.
Quincy (10-5, 4-1) defeated United Township (12-5, 3-2) 71-56
Rock Island (15-4, 5-1) won at Rock Island Alleman (4-13, 0-6) 53-35
Olympic Conference
Monmouth-Roseville (12-5, 3-3) couldn't hang on to a double-digit lead in the third quarter against #5 Orion (15-5, 4-1) and fell to the Chargers 56-53. Markus Hunter led the Titans with 17 points.

Macomb (11-6) won at Rockridge (12-9) 65-51

Peoria Heights downed Williamsfield (12-10) 76-59

The Great Western Shootout at Abingdon High School features seven games.
The action steps off with the #1 ranked Brimfield girls basketball team playing Abingdon (15-9) at 10 a-m.
The boys games begin at Noon with Knoxville taking on Southeastern, Farmington plays Stark County at 1:30, Monmouth-Roseville takes on Eureka at 3:00, Abingdon meets Bureau Valley at 4:30, Illini West squares off against IVC at 6:00 and #5 Orion plays #7 Delavan in the nightcap at 7:30.

Galesburg plays twice Saturday in the MLK Tournament at Thiel Gym. The Streaks open against Macomb at 9 a-m (8:40 pregame) at Thiel Gymnasium. Galesburg returns in the nightcap at 7:30 p-m to play Peoria Notre Dame. Pregame coverage begins at 7:06 on WGIL AM 1400.
