|High School Girls Basketball
Abingdon's big third quarter lifted the Commandos over Elmwood. Abingdon outscored the Trojans 17-2 in the third stanza en route to a 41-27 victory. Melissa VonKannon scored a game high 22 points for the Commandos (16-10).
Knoxville cruised by Peoria Heights 62-7. Abby Ball led the Blue Bullets (21-6) with 14 points.
Ridgewood held off a second half rally by Wethersfield and defeated the Flying Geese 82-73 in Kewanee. Stephanie Williams scored 25 points for the Spartans (24-2). Becca Mahnesmith matched Williams with 25 points to go along with 9 rebounds for Wethersfield (6-14).
Monmouth-Roseville won at Macomb 47-25. Lynsey Weber led the Titans (17-5) with 12 points.
Bushnell-Prairie City /Avon beat South Fulton 65-57 in OT. Kendra Pierce led the Spartans (9-11) with 22 points. Carly Bebee scored 23 for the Rebels (16-7). BPC/A and South Fulton were tied at 53 apiece at the end of regulation. The Spartans outscored the Rebels 12-4 in the extra period.
#1 Brimfield won a battle against #5 Havana 49-42. The Indians (22-3) outscored the Ducks (21-4) 13-5 in the third quarter to help Brimfield get the victory.
West Central downed Galva 43-36
Farmington won its fourth straight game with a 49-43 Olympic Conference victory against Rockridge. Rachel Stobaugh led the Farmers (10-16, 4-2) with 21 points.
Illini Bluffs tripped Lewistown 67-49
Princeville (16-6) held Mercer County (1-18) scoreless in the first quarter and went on to beat the Golden Eagles 62-21.
Annawan took down Stark County 56-47
Galesburg's freshman team lost a close game to Peoria Richwoods 33-32. Allison Mangieri scored 10 points to lead the Silver Streaks (5-9).
High School Boys Basketball
Orion(16-5, 5-1) outscored Macomb (11-7, 5-1) 19-12 in the fourth quarter and outlasted the Bombers 56-50 in Olympic Conference play.
Rock Island's freshman team beat Galesburg 80-52. Travon Diggins led the Silver Streaks (7-9) with 16 points.
