|Knox College Swimmers Shatter Records
|The Knox College swimming and diving team competed had an exceptional day in the Grinnell Invitational January 15th and 16th, setting five new school records - two individual records and three team records.
The individual record-setters were Bess Cooley (Shorewood, Wisconsin) and Emilie Perrot (Besancon, France). Cooley won the 200 Breast stroke in 2:28.79 - breaking her own school record that she set earlier in the season. Perrot set the second individual record as she won the 200 Back in 2:18.45. The previous record was 2:19.45 set in 2000.
Breaking team records were the 400 Medley relay team, the 200 Medley relay team and the 400 Free relay team.
The 400 Medley team: Tory Kassabaum (St. Louis, Missouri), Cooley, Perrot, and Anne Heberle (Lodi, California) finished 3rd with a time of 4:20.34. The previous record was set in 1996 (4:22.44).
The second team record was set by the 200 Medley relay team (Kassabaum, Cooley, Perrot and Rachel Clark (Newton, Iowa)) as they took 3rd with a time of 1:57.41. The old record of 1:58.78 was set earlier in the season. And, the 400 Free relay team (Cooley, Clark, Kassabaum, and Perrot) took 4th but broke the school record for the third time this season with a time of 3:52.88.
