Galesburg Looks to Continue One Streak and End Another Against Rival Quincy
Galesburg goes for its ninth straight win tonight and third in a row in Western Big Six play Friday night, but it won't be in any way easy.

The Silver Streaks beat Moline last Friday night and hope to do the same to Quincy. The Blue Devils have won three straight games, including a double-digit victory last weekend against Hinsdale South that included a career-high 38 point effort from leading scorer Zach Forbes. Quincy is 11-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play. The lone loss was at Rock Island two weeks ago, but Forbes didn't play because of an injury.

Galesburg lost to the Blue Devils at home 71-65 back on December 4th, but the Streaks appear to be a different team now. Quincy has owned the Streaks in recent years, sporting an 11-1 record in the last 12 games.

Victor Davis and Brandon Thompson have been the offensive leaders and both are coming off 20-plus point efforts in last Saturday's win at Rockford East. Davis is averaging 18.3 points per game and Thompson is putting up 10.5 per outging.

Quincy leads the all-time series against Galesburg 72-40. Pregame coverage from Blue Devil Gymnasium begins at 7:06 p-m on WGIL AM 1400 and www.wgil.com.

The Silver Streaks return home Saturday to play Geneseo. The Maple Leafs beat Galesburg twice last season, including a win in the Galesburg regional semifinals that ended the Streaks' season. The tip-off for that game is also at 7:30 p-m and will be on the air beginning at 7:06.
