Quincy ended Galesburg's eight-game winning streak with a 52-36 victory at Blue Devil Gym.
Quincy (12-5, 5-1) outscored the Silver Streaks 13-3 in the second quarter after Galesburg built a 13-8 first quarter lead. But leading scorer Victor Davis had to leave the game with 5:57 left in the first half with his second foul and the Silver Streaks didn't score again in the first half while Quincy scored nine straight points to go up 21-16. Davis led the Streaks with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Brandon Thompson chipped in with 10 points.
Galesburg got within three points of Quincy, 23-20 early in the third quarter, but the Blue Devils responded with an 8-0 to go up by 11. The Streaks' last run came on a Ryan McElmurray layup late in the third quarter that cut Galesburg's deficit to six - 33-27 - but that was as close as the visitors would get the rest of the way.
