| Iowa's Guards Exposed in Big Ten Play |
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- The Big Ten season is just a week old, and yet the book is already out on Iowa. Get after the Hawkeyes woefully thin and inexperienced backcourt and the rest will take care of itself. No. 4 Purdue and Minnesota did just that in rolling to easy wins in Iowa City last week. The Boilermakers forced Iowa (5-9, 0-2 Big Ten) into 16 turnovers in a 67-56 win on December 29. The Gophers forced a staggering 18 turnovers in the first half alone en route to an 86-74 victory on Saturday. Opponents will likely view the way Purdue and Minnesota attacked Iowa's guards as a blueprint for victory, starting with Tuesday's game at Illinois (9-5, 1-0).
