| Stewart Ashamed of Confrontation with Track Owner |
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Tony Stewart says he's embarrassed about his confrontation with a track owner in Australia.
The two-time NASCAR champion was questioned by police at Sydney Speedway last week. He says the dispute was over track conditions that Stewart believed endangered drivers.
Stewart did not identify the other person in the dispute, but several Australian racing websites reported he fought with speedway co-owner Brett Morris.
Stewart is at Daytona International Speedway for three days of testing leading to next month's season-opening race. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
