| Lakers Pull Off Win Over Denver |
UNDATED (AP) -- The knock against the NBA champion L.A. Lakers was they couldn't beat good teams on the road. After all, entering last night, the Lakers were 1-5 on the road against teams with winning record.
But the Lakers are still the Lakers. And Kobe Bryant is still Kobe Bryant.
Bryant scored 14 of his 18 points in the third quarter and the Lakers beat Denver 107-97 in a Western Conference showdown in the Mile High City. Pau Gasol and Ron Artest led five Lakers in double figures with 19.
Carmelo Anthony led all scorers with 23 on 10-of-24 shooting for Denver.
