HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL
The Galesburg Silver Streaks boys took a rare Friday night off, as they prepared for Saturday's game at the Rock Falls shootout with DeKalb. Coach Mike Reynolds team will be gunning for their 5th straight win, on the heels of an 8-game losing streak. They'll face a DeKalb team that has struggled to a 3-9 mark, but features talented 6'7" sophomore center Andre Harris. Broadcast time is 6:10pm Saturday on WGIL.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Galesburg girls are trying to regroup following Thursday night's setback at Rock Island Alleman. The Silver Streaks went 3-for-30 from 3-point range in a 62-56 loss to the Pioneers. Jessica Leiber's 22 points led the Streaks, who will head to Chicago Saturday for their annual game with Queen of Peace high school. Broadcast time is scheduled for 1:10 with Tom Meredith and Eric Gibson here on WGIL.

OTHER SPORTS
Other events coming up Saturday include the Galesburg boys swim team visiting Peoria Richwoods, and the girls bowling team travels to the Taylorville Invitational.
In college basketball Saturday, Knox and Monmouth will have their first meeting of the season. The women play at 3pm and the men at 5 at Monmouth's Glennie Gymnasium. Carl Sandburg College men and women will also be in action at John Wood College in Quincy. |
