|POSTED 11:25 a-m 2/3/10 Brimfield High School's basketball teams reign in Illinois.
The undefeated Brimfield boys squad (23-0) holds down the #1 ranking in Class 1-A again this week. The Lady Indians have been the top rated team in the state for the past several weeks. Orion dropped out of the poll this week after being ranked most of the season.
Peoria Manual falls from the top spot in Class 2-A. Replacing the Rams (16-5) is Chicago Hales Franciscan (17-2), which was #2 a week ago.
Rock Island (16-5) is ranked #7 again this week in Class 3-A. The Western Big Six leading Rocks come to Galesburg to play the Silver Streaks (16-8) Friday night in a key conference game for both teams. Peoria Richwoods (18-2) is #1 for the second straight week in 3A. Peoria Notre Dame, like Richwoods a member of the Mid-State Six Conference, received votes for consideration but didn't crack the top ten.
There is a change at the top in Class 4-A. Whitney Young (16-4) replaces Waukegan (16-4) in that position. Waukegan dropped two spots to #3. O'Fallon (19-1) moves up one spot to #2. Quincy (12-5) received votes for consideration, but not enough to get into the top ten.
