| Illinois Football Team Adds Small Class Heavy with QBs |
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois added 20 new players in a recruiting class highlighted by a pair of quarterbacks and a 25-year-old defensive back. Quarterback Chad Whitmer of Downers Grove is a highly-ranked player. He's followed by fellow quarterback Miles Osei of Mt. Prospect. Whitmer is already enrolled. Defensive back Trulon Henry is notable for his connection to a past Illini player, and his past. Henry is the older brother of former receiver Arrelious Benn. He comes to Champaign after two years in junior college and several more in prison for robbing a grocery store. The Illini's class is ranked at or near the bottom of the Big Ten by recruiting services Rivals.com and Scout.com. Both services rank it 69th in the country. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press.
