|Hope Fading for Struggling Hawkeyes
|DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- It was only last week that the slightest glimmer of hope shined on fledgling Iowa.
The Hawkeyes had won three of their last four and headed into the second half of the Big Ten season hoping their extremely green roster had grown enough to avoid the school's first 20-loss season.
But Iowa (8-15, 2-8 Big Ten) got blown out by Michigan last weekend and shot less than 30 percent from the floor in losing to Illinois, 57-49, on Wednesday.
The Hawkeyes play five of their last eight games on the road, starting with Sunday's matchup at No. 13 Ohio State (17-6, 7-3).
Coach Todd Lickliter says suspended guard Anthony Tucker will make the trip to Columbus, but it's uncertain if he'll play.
