| Spartans #3 in Class 1A High School Girls Basketball Poll |
POSTED 1:30 p-m 2/10/10 Ridgewood moved up one spot while Knoxville and Brimfield stayed put in this week's Associated Press High School Girls Basketball Poll. The Spartans (26-2) are at #3 this week in Class 1A. Brimfield (24-3) is again the overwhelming #1 ranked team and Knoxville (23-7) remains at #6 in the poll. Annawan (5) received votes for top 10 consideration, but not enough to get in. Rock Island Alleman (20-10) is ranked 4th in Class 2A, unchanged from last week. Bloomington Central Catholic (25-1) is #1. Hamilton West Hancock (24-4) climbed into this week's poll at #8. Both Monmouth-Roseville (5) and Kewanee (3) received votes for top 10 consideration. Peoria Richwoods (17-5), at #9, is the only area team ranked in Class 3-A. The Knights were 8th last week. Lombard Montini (25-1) is #1 in 3A. Moline (27-1) moved up to #2 in Class 4A, replacing Chicago Whitney Young (22-2) - which is now #3. The Maroons got one vote for #1. The remaining six went to the top-ranked team, Bolingbrook (21-1). |
