Class 3A

@ Galesburg Regional:

Galesburg couldn't hold on to a double-digit fourth quarter lead and lost to Geneseo 62-56 in the semifinal round. The Silver Streaks led the Maple Leafs by 12 points early in the fourth quarter (45-33). Geneseo responded with a 29-11 run to win the game and end Galesburg's season. The Streaks made just 7-of-44 from 3-point range in the game and Geneseo (22-6) outscored GHS 26-13 at the free-throw line. Senior Sara Baker scored 13 points in her final game as a Silver Streak. Junior Jessica Howard also had 13. Galesburg ends the season with a 17-14 record.

#4 seed Rock Island (11-16) blew out the top seed Sterling (21-9) 60-36 to advance to Thursday night's regional final against Geneseo.

Class 4A

@ Pekin Regional:

#2 ranked Moline blew out Quincy 58-26

(3) Pekin pulled a minor upset by beating (2) United Township 52-49

* Moline and Pekin play for the regional championship Thursday night

#3 Brimfield beat Abingdon 55-30

Knoxville got past Sherrard 58-56

Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon defeated North Fulton 57-54

Elmwood handled Peoria Heights 81-56

Lewistown downed Beardstown 59-43

(Olympic Conference)

Monmouth-Roseville beat Mercer County 67-47. Alex Bresnahan led the Titans with 23 points. Markus Hunter added 21.

Macomb lost to Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin 63-57 in double overtime

(Intercounty Conference)

Williamsfield ran past DePue 80-43. Alex Ott scored 34 points to lead the Bombers.

(Lincoln Trail Conference)

Rowva defeated West Central 59-52

United beat Princeville 62-44

Stark County downed Ridgewood 68-35

Wethersfield beat Galva 64-48. Kyle Bumphrey led the Flying Geese with 14 points.


Havana beat South Fulton 60-43

Galesburg's freshman team lost to Peoria High 73-39. Travon Diggins scored 13 points to lead the Silver Streaks (8-14).



Illinois College beat Knox College 86-54. Joe Kozak scored 12 points and Ben Wetherbee 11 for the Prairie Fire (2-20, 2-13 MWC).

Lake Forest College downed Monmouth College 72-50. Zach Ott and Bryce Donaldson scored nine points each to lead the Fighting Scots (5-17, 4-11 MWC)

Carl Sandburg College won a wild game against Black Hawk East. The Chargers (13-15, 4-7 Arrowhead), in a game played at Knox College, used three overtimes to win 100-98. Jeremy Sewell scored the game winning basket with 1.5 seconds to play in the third extra period. He led everyone with 37 points. D.T. Thornton added 20 and Patrick Lewis scored 15.


Illinois College beat Knox College 79-61. Lynn Mueller scored 18 points and Krystyna Williams had 14 to lead the Prairie Fire (9-12, 4-10).

Monmouth College won a thriller against Lake Forest. The Fighting Scots kept their playoff hopes alive with a 101-96 OT victory on Senior Night for the Scots. Freshman Colleen Forrest helped Monmouth come back from a 16-point first half deficit by leading all scorers with 26 points. Justine Boone and Lynsey Barnard scored 19 points each and Zipporah Williams had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Scots (13-9, 8-7) made a school-record 11 3-point baskets in the game.
