A close game all the way around, but the Knoxville Blue Bullets girls basketball team came out on top, beating in-county rival Abindgon 29-26 Friday night for the Class 1A Monmouth Regional Championship. A three-point shot by Abingdon's Allyson Cordle with two-seconds left in the game went in and out and couldn't give the Commandos the come-from-behind victory. Katie Houston led the Blue Bullets with 14 points. Cordon "Beep" Jones led Abingdon with 16 points. The Commandos made nine out of ten free-throws, while Knoxville only made one out of four.
