|Hitting on Deck This Season for Cubs' Castro
|MESA, Ariz. (AP)--The Chicago Cubs are convinced Starlin Castro can hit. They showed that much when they signed their All-Star shortstop to a 7-year, $60-million extension last summer.
The big question left for the 23 year old Castro to answer as he enters his fourth season in the major leagues is whether he can cut down on his league-leading error totals and headline-making mental lapses in the field.
Manager Dale Sveum says he has challenged Castro to win a Gold Glove. It would be a big step for Castro, who has led the National League in errors each of the past two seasons.
