Boys basketball
All of the area small-school boys basketball teams will on the court tonight, highlighted by a rematch of last week's Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament championship game. That takes place in Galva, where the Wildcats will be trying to even the score with Wethersfield, which won the tourney title Saturday night. Elsewhere on tonight's schedule:
Knoxville at Farmington Abingdon at Lewistown United at Princeville Canton at Monmouth-Roseville West Central at ROWVA
Girls basketball
Girls Regional tournament play continues into the semifinals at several locations tonight. The class 1A event in Abingdon finds the hosts playing second-seed United in the 7:30 game The 6pm contest has top-seed Lewistown facing Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon. In class 2A, the Rockridge Regional features Sherrard and West Central in game one tonight, followed by Orion and Rockridge in the nightcap. Monmouth-Roseville was bounced out by West Central last night 61-52.
Junior High Hoops
Galesburg Junior High rivals Lombard and Churchill will meet tonight at John Thiel Gymnasium at GHS. The 7th grade game will begin at 5:30, with the 8th grade to follow.
College basketball
The Carl Sandburg Chargers will hit the road for Dixon tonight, as they will play men's and women's games against Sauk Valley.
Tomorrow night, Knox and Monmouth will renew their rivalry at Memorial Gym in Galesburg. The Fighting Scots swept the first meetings of the teams on their home campus in December. |
