HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Galesburg Silver Streaks Boys Basketball team didn't let the possibility of snow keep them from notching their seventh straight win Friday night. The Streaks beat Rock Island Alleman 70-56. Devyn Ross led the Streaks with a career-high 22 points, 18 of which came in the first half. Denzel Jones followed with 17 points. Tyson Parks didn't play because of a head injury. The Streaks are now second in the Western Big 6 Conference at 5 and 1, and they're 19-6 overall.

The GHS Sophomore Boys defeated Alleman 60-32.

The Silver Streaks girls were to play at home Saturday versus Peoria Manual, but that game has been cancelled.

Most of the area sports schedule could get cancelled due to the winter storm bearing down on the area Saturday. You can check our complete list by clicking on "cancellations" at WGIL.com.
