United stayed unbeaten by defeating Canton 7-1. Katie Bertelsen struck out 18 to earn the win in the circle for the Red Storm.

Abingdon stopped Princeville 6-1 for the Commandos fourth straight win to open the season.

North Fulton beat Knoxville 12-2

Brimfield-Elmwood shut out Peoria Woodruff 12-0 in five innings

Annawan-Wethersfield defeated Kewanee 13-2

Mercer County fell to Illini West 6-4

Stark County lost to Midland 6-1


High School Baseball

Galesburg High School's sophomore team shut out Sherrard 16-0. The Silver Streaks banged out 14 hits to the Tigers' four.

Olympia handed Brimfield-Elmwood its first loss, 5-1

Kewanee shut out Annawan-Wethersfield 8-0

Stark County lost to Fieldcrest 14-5


High School Track and Field

Galesburg High School's boys and girls teams won triangular meets against Knoxville and Rowva


College Baseball

Monmouth College lost to Augustana College 7-5. The Vikings broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the fifth inning and one in the sixth. The Fighting Scots (2-10), which had 12 hits, scored a run in the top of the seventh to account for the final score.

Southeastern Community College beat Carl Sandburg College 15-2


College Softball

Illinois Wesleyan swept a doubleheader from Monmouth College. The Titans won the first game 7-2 then shut out the Fighting Scots (2-9) 8-0 in the finale.
