Route 41 Series:
Decatur St. Teresa took advantage of 10 errors by Abingdon and beat the Commandos11-2
ROWVA won its season opener in the series 11-1 against Champaign Judah Christian
Danville Schlarman handled Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon 27-5 in five innings
*The series continues Saturday with 12 games in Abingdon, Bushnell and Lewistown

Galesburg High School plays Metamora at 12:30 and Immaculate Conception at 5:30 Saturday in the Jacksonville Tournament

High School Softball
Knoxville lost to Princeville 4-0 despite 16 strikeouts by Blue Bullets pitcher Andrea Wilhite. Knoxville was held to five hits in the game.
Orion defeated Ridgewood 8-1
Local College Baseball
Galesburg High School graduate Caleb Weaver went 5-for-5 at the plate with three home runs and 10 runs batted in to lead Carl Sandburg College past the Knox College junior varsity team team 20-3
College Men's Golf
Knox College's purple team finished in fourth place after the first day of the Prairie Fire Classic. Carroll University leads the pack by one shot over the Monmouth College red team. Knox finished the day with a 319, which is 13 shots behind Carroll. The second and final day of the tournament begins at 9:00 Saturday morning at Soangetaha Country Club. |
