|High School Baseball
Abingdon (4-4) defeated United (1-2) 8-5
ROWVA's Dylan Reid hit two home runs to lead the Tigers (4-0) to an 8-0 win against Knoxville
Monmouth-Roseville got three hits apiece from Blake Stuart and Ryan Waller and sold pitching from B.J. Salyers in an 11-1 victory against Ridgewood. Salyers allowed one earned run, four hits and stuck out 11 in 5 2/3 innings of work for the Titans.
Rockridge scored 10 runs in the fourth inning before Galva-Williamsfield's bats got going. The Rockets ultimately won the slugfest against the Wildcats 17-14. Alex Ott led Galva-Williamsfield (1-5) with three hits and four runs batted in.
Brimfield-Elmwood defeated Peoria Woodruff 6-2
Annawan-Wethersfield (3-2) scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to snap a 3-3 tie and beat Farmington (3-3) 5-3
West Central scored two runs in the fourth inning and defeated West Prairie 3-1
Lewistown scored in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Virginia-A/C Central 4-3
Roanoke-Benson/Lowpoint-Washburn downed Stark County 6-1
Galesburg's sophomore team remains undefeated after beating Peoria Notre Dame 5-4. Seth Morling picked up the win on the mound for the Silver Streaks (5-0). Luke Ryan drove in three runs and Morling added a double and scored twice for GHS.
High School Softball
North Fulton swept a doubleheader against Williamsfield. The Wildcats won the first game 10-0 and the finale 11-2.
Orion downed Monmouth-Roseville 9-6. Cassie Wallace led the Titans offense with three hits.
High School Girls Soccer
Quincy scored four goals in the second half and beat Galesburg High School 4-0. Sarah Katchen recorded 20 saves in goal for the Silver Streaks (1-1), which played the Blue Devils to a scoreless tie in the first half.
High School Track and Field
Annawan-Wethersfield swept both the boys and girls meets at Kewanee. Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon-West Prairie was second in the boys meet and United finished second in the girls meet.
Local College Sports
Iowa Wesleyan swept a softball twinbill against Knox College 7-1 and 13-2. One of the highlights for the Prairie Fire was Britt Wisniewski, who had two hits and an RBI to bring her season total to 19 runs batted in through nine games.
