High School Baseball

United benefited from four errors by Rockridge in the sixth inning and scored all five of its runs in that frame in a 5-1 victory. Geoffrey Hahn had two RBIs for the Red Storm (2-2) and Mikey Paschal earned the win on the mound.

North Fulton downed Galva-Williamsfield 4-3. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth, when North Fulton (2-2) scored a run and added three more in the bottom of the sixth. Galva-Williamsfield (1-6) scored all three of its runs in the top of the seventh inning. Jesse Shaw earned the win on the mound and and Brandon Shaw picked up the save.

Illini West beat West Central 4-1

Rushville-Industry defeated Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon (2-3) 16-2 in five innings

South Fulton (1-2) downed Farmington (3-4) 11-9

Princeville outslugged Peoria Woodruff 18-14


High School Softball

Galesburg lost to Morton 16-4. Jessica Davison took the loss. Kelsey McKillip, Jordan Marshall and Sam Mason each drove in a run for the Silver Streaks (4-2). Morton also won the junior varsity game 8-4.

Peoria Christian defeated Williamsfield 7-4. Sienna Sams had an RBI and Tara Adams added two hits for the Bombers.

United, without standout Katie Bertelsen in the circle, beat South Fulton 10-0. Amy Olson pitched a complete game three hitter and struck out seven for the Red Storm (6-1). Rachel Kenney had three hits and drove in three runs at the plate and Augusta Chandler added two hits and two RBIs for United.

Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon won 7-4 at West Hancock. Katie Lopez drove in three runs for the Spartans. Taylor Elder earned the win in the circle. She gave up two hits and no earned runs while striking out eight.

Lewistown easily beat West Prairie 16-1

Illini West won at West Central 13-11

Stark County blanked Prophetstown/Erie 11-0

Canton shut Peoria Central 13-0


High School Track and Field

-Boys-

Rowva won a dual meet against Stark County 107-25

Farmington finished first in the Monmouth-Roseville/Farmington Quad. The Farmers led with 78 points, followed by Knoxville (48), Monmouth-Roseville (39) and Galva (19).


-Girls-

Galesburg (108) won a triangular meet against United (38) and Canton (37)

Rowva outscored Stark County in a dual meet 78-55

Monmouth-Roseville won its quad with Farmington. The Titans led the way with 58.5 points. Elmwood finished second (52), Knoxville third (46.5) and Farmington fourth (23).


High School Boys Tennis

Galesburg opened Western Big Six competition with a 7-2 loss at Alleman. Maury Cohn won his singles match and the duo of Brandon Meeker and Calvin Shipplett won in doubles play for the Silver Streaks.


College Sports

-Baseball-

Monmouth College beat Loras 13-11 in the first game of a doubleheader. The second game was suspended in the top of the fifth inning because of darkness with the Scots (6-11) leading the Duhawks 6-4. The game will be resumed on April 20th

-Softball-

Carl Sandburg College lost both games of a twinbill against Arrowhead Conference foe Black Hawk College 7-0 and 2-0
