A huge second quarter by Galesburg turned a tie game into a rout as the Silver Streaks handled Dixon 76-47 in the semifinals.
The first quarter included eight lead changes and two ties as Galesburg (19-11) and Dixon played to a 14-14 stalemate after the first quarter. The Silver Streaks then scored the first nine points of the second quarter and went on to outscore the Dukes 25-6 to take a 19 point halftime lead (39-20).
Dixon (15-13) scored the first eight points of the third quarter to reduce the deficit to 11, but that's as close as the Dukes would get as Galesburg responded with a 23-13 run over the final eight minutes to ensure the win.
