In a vote of the league's coaches, the Monmouth College women's and men's basketball teams landed one player each on the All-Midwest Conference team.
Senior guard Lynsey Barnard (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) was named to the women's second team. The biopsychology major got in opponents' heads as a dangerous inside-outside threat. Her 13.4 points-per-game average led the Scots in scoring. Able to penetrate, she was also adept at scoring outside, where she was second on the team in three-pointers. It is Barnard's second all-league selection.
Junior post Eric Cogdill (East Moline, Ill./United Township) was named to the men's honorable mention team for the first time. He led the Scots with six double-doubles and a 13.9 points-per-game scoring average. The business major's 7.1 rebounds were also tops on the team and his 21 rebounds against Grinnell nearly tied the single-game record of 23 set by Roger Sander in 1976.
