| Ramirez Leaves Early in Cubs Victory |
MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez left the game early with what the Cubs called "triceps soreness," and a Chicago split squad went on to beat the Cincinnati Reds 11-4 on Saturday.
Bobby Scales doubled in the go-ahead run in the sixth for the Cubs, one inning after Bryan LaHair, who entered the game for Ramirez, tied the game with a three-run homer off Micah Owings.
Owings, trying to be Cincinnati's No. 5 starter, allowed three runs on four hits in two innings.
Each starting pitcher -- Cincinnati's Homer Bailey and Chicago's Sean Marshall -- allowed one run in three innings.
Reds prospect Juan Francisco homered twice and drove in three runs. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
