High School Basketball
The final touch was put on the Galesburg High School boys basketball campaign Sunday with the post season banquet held at John Thiel Gymnasium. Seven outgoing seniors were among those honored for their contributions to the recently-completed 25-win season.
Award winners included: Brandon Thompson as the Most Valuable Player (led team in scoring and rebounds); Ryan McElmurry as Best Defender; Garrett Williams was named Most Improved; and Dalton Davis won the Silver Streak Award, given annually to the player who best personifies the attitude, effort, and leadership symbolic of Silver Streak basketball.
It was also noted that this year's team placed four players on the Western Big-6 All-Academic team. |
