| Knuble's Goal Gives Caps OT Win Over Chicago |
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Mike Knuble scored with 1:09 left in overtime to give the Washington Capitals their eighth straight victory, a 4-3 decision over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.
Marcus Johansson fed Knuble in front of Chicago goalie Corey Crawford. Knuble quickly moved the puck from left to right and flicked a shot past Crawford.
Chicago forced overtime when Jonathan Toews scored a power-play goal with 38.5 seconds left in regulation. The Blackhawks pulled Crawford and had a two-man advantage on the power play.
The victory gave the Capitals 90 points, increased their Southeast Division lead over Tampa Bay to five and moved them one point behind Eastern Conference leader Philadelphia. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
