HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

The Galesburg Silver Streaks captured the title at their own invitational Saturday, defeating Alleman for the second year in a row 6-4. Chad Johnson went3-for-3 for the Streaks with a homerun, a double, and two RBI's. Earlier, Galesburg defeated Normal U-High 8-2. Tim Rossell struck out 12.

Two runs scored by Quincy in the bottom of the 7th caused the Blue Devils to beat ROWVA at the Streaks Invite Saturday 5-4.

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

A 6-run second inning helped the GHS Softball team defeat Auburn at the Springifield Spring Slam Saturday 12-0. Kaylee Mesecher was the winning pitcher. The Streaks also dominated Springfield Southeast Saturday 13-3, but lost 9-8 to North Fulton.

HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

GHS Girls Track Team members Myra Digins and Steph Saey broke school records at the Shipley Invitational Saturday. Diggins set the record in the shot put, while Saey set the record in the 1600 meter run.

The GHS Boys placed 3rd out of 8 teams at the Shipley meet Saturday.

HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

Anna Barshinger scored three goals en route to the GHS Silver Streaks victory over Canton Saturday 7-0. The J/V Squad defeated Canton 1-0.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

Illinois College defeated Monmouth College Saturday 4-0, but the Scots picked up Game 2 9-8 after the Scots spotted Illinois College an 8-0 lead.

Carl Sandburg College defeated Highland in both games of a doubleheader Saturday 6-2 and 9-5.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Monmouth College lost twice to North Central Saturday, 7-1 and 10-7.

Carl Sandburg College split a doubleheader with Elgin Saturday, winning game 1 4-1, and losing game 2 4-3
