HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Saturday turned out to be an almost ideal day for baseball in Galesburg, as the Streaks Early Spring Invitational got off without a hitch. And there weren't many for the Streaks at the tournament, as Jason Maulden was the winning pitcher, and Cal Morling was 3-for-4 in a 9-5 win over East Aurora. Peyton Isaacson went four innings pitching two-hit baseball as the Streaks went on to defeat Dunlap 7-2. Carson Cheesman had 3 hits and 3 RBI's for the Streaks in that win.

Ridgewood 8, Dixon 0
Rock Island 4, Dunlap 2
Dixon 11, Knoxville 8 (five-run fifth inning helped seal the victory against the Blue Bullets)
Ridgewood 9, Knoxville 0


At the Route 41 Series:
Abingdon 9, Illini Central 4
Macomb 10, Abingdon 8
Arlington Heights 6, Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon 5

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

The Galesburg Silver Streaks Softball team split a double-header with Peoria Richwoods Saturday, losing game 1 8-7, and winning game 2 12-2. In game 1, 3 runs in the 7th Inning helped Richwoods come from behind, while the Streaks scored 6 runs in the first inning and 5 runs in the fourth inning of game 2. Kaylee Meescher pitched both games, earning both a win and a loss.


COLLEGE BASEBALL

Monmouth College lost both games of a double-header Saturday with Loras, 6-4, and 5-3. The two teams will play again on Wednesday, but due to field conditions, the games will be played at Monmouth College instead of Loras.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

The softball double header scheduled for Sun., Mar. 24 at Monmouth College with Eureka College has been cancelled due to weather conditions. No makeup date has been set.
