Groce Hopes For Hot Postseason Hand At Illinois
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- At Ohio, John Groce's teams had a way of turning it on in the post season.

The Bobcats twice won the MAC tournament and made it to the NCAA tournament's Sweet 16 in his final season.

The first-year Illinois coach is about to find out if his Illini have that kind of run in them.

Illinois (21-11, 8-10 Big Ten) opens the Big Ten tournament on Thursday against Minnesota. Illinois has beaten top teams like Indiana but also lost to Northwestern. And they lost their last two regular-season games.

Illinois could have Joseph Bertrand back Thursday. He missed Sunday's loss to Ohio State with a shoulder injury.
