| Galesburg High School Swim Standout Signing with Northern Iowa |
POSTED 1:58 p-m 4/13/10 A member of Galesburg High School's girls swimming and diving team that received several honors last fall will continue competing at the Division I college level.
Officials at Galesburg High School say senior Kathleen Varner will sign a letter of intent to swim at Northern Iowa University.
Varner was a key member of a Streaks team that won the Western Big Six Conference championship for the third straight year and went undefeated (7-0) in dual meets. She was part of a 200 freestyle relay team that set a new Western Big Six Conference meet record. That was one of several events Varner either won as part of a group at the meet or individually.
The signing will take place in the front foyer at Galesburg High School at 10:45 Wednesday morning.
