LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- The Chicago Bears continue to try to bolster their defense on Saturday's final day of the draft by selecting Northwestern defensive end Corey Wootton in the fourth round.
Wootton, chosen with the 109th pick overall, returned from surgery to repair a torn right anterior cruciate ligament in January 2009 to play last season for Northwestern. He had four sacks and six tackles for loss in 2009.
The 6-foot-6, 270-pounder figures to play left defensive end with the Bears. Julius Peppers, Henry Melton, Mark Anderson and Israel Idonije are the team's other defensive ends.
