High School Baseball

Galesburg High School began play in Orlando, FL with a loss to a school from New Jersey. The Silver Streaks (3-5) pitching staff gave up just two hits but allowed nine walks, hit three batters and the team committed four errors in a 5-4 loss to Eastern. Dalton Davis and Bo Merritt each had two hits for Galesburg in the loss.

Galesburg's sophomore team swept United to remain unbeaten on the season. The Silver Streaks downed the Red Storm 7-5 in the first game and won the finale 16-1. Galesburg is now 9-0.

ROWVA scored four runs in the first inning and went on to beat North Fulton 10-1

Monmouth-Roseville used three big innings to beat Lewistown. The Titans scored three runs in the second, four in the fourth and three more in the fifth in an 11-6 win against the Indians.

West Central lost to West Hancock 13-6

Rushville-Industry defeated West Prairie 7-3

East Peoria shut out Canton 10-0

Midland blanked Stark County 7-0

Kewanee got past Henry 2-1


High School Softball

Abingdon got two home runs and a solid pitching performance from Beep Jones in the Commandos' 10-0 win against ROWVA in five innings. Besides going deep twice, Jones struck out nine in the circle to earn the win.

Knoxville scored eight runs in the third inning and defeated West Central 9-4

Monmouth-Roseville beat Annawan-Wethersfield 9-8 in nine innings

Bushnell-Prairie City-Avon broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the sixth inning to defeat Illini West 3-2

IVC beat Brimfield-Elmwood 6-1

Henry downed Kewanee 12-4

Princeton plated eight third inning runs and beat Stark County 16-6

Lewistown had 21 hits in a 14-6 win against Delavan
