CSC Signs Galesburg High School's Pacheco
POSTED 11:34 a-m 4/9/10 Carl Sandburg College's women's basketball team is adding one of the best all-around players in the area.

Chargers head coach Mike Bailey announced that Galesburg High School senior Shelby Pacheco has singed a national letter of intent to play at CSC. Pacheco was a forward for a Silver Streaks team that implemented a new offensive style this year and won 17 games.

Sandburg struggled badly last season, finishing with a 5-22 record. That included a 13-game losing streak from mid-January to mid-February. The team was very young with eight freshmen and three sophomores on the roster, so Pacheco will join a group that got a lot of valuable experience on the court.

Pacheco averaged just under 10 points per game this past season for the Silver Streaks, which was good for sixth in scoring in the Western Big Six Conference. She also led the team in rebounding and was second in free-throw attempts.
