Monmouth College has a new men's head basketball coach. 38 year old Todd Skrivseth, who was the top assistant at Wisconsin-Whitewater, was named Wednesday as the new head coach for the Fighting Scots. Skrivseth was chosen after an extensive but efficient search that netted more than 200 applicants. Skrivseth is a native of Maquoketa, Iowa and played his college ball at Coe, which at the time was a member of the Midwest Conference. Skrivseth becomes the 26th coach in Monmouth College history, replacing Mark Vershaw, who was let go after the Fighting Scots posted just one conference win this past season.
A pair of starters for the Galesburg Silver Streaks boys basketball team this past season have signed letters of intent of continue their playing careers at the college level. Point guard Ryan McElmurry yesterday signed with Illinois Central College in Peoria, while shooting guard Garrett. Williams will play for Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield. |
