| Bulls Near Sweep vs. Scrappy Pacers |
NDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Chicago Bulls are on the verge of sweeping the Indiana Pacers in their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series.
Chicago defeated Indiana 88-84 on Thursday after Derrick Rose made a layup to give the Bulls the lead late in the game.
The Bulls have won the first three hard-fought games by a combined 15 points. Indiana lost double-digit leads in the first two games, then squandered a five-point advantage in the fourth quarter on Thursday.
Rose was held to 23 points on 4-for-18 shooting in Game 3 as Paul George and Dahntay Jones brought a physical edge to the Pacers' trapping defense. Rose says finishing the series it as quickly as possible is a priority so the team can rest. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
