HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
Streaks Invite
Alleman 8, North Boone 2 Limestone 2, Normal U-High 1 Alleman 12, Limestone 8.
The Galesburg Silver Streaks defeated Rockford Guilford 12-9. Chris Fields was the winning pitcher, going four innings but giving up 4 runs and 7 hits. Seth Morling got the save. Zach McCrery and Luke Ryan each scored four runs en route to the victory. Two of Ryan's runs were thanks to a home run.
The Streaks then went on to defeat United Township 5-4. Chris Sugden pitched only two innings but got the win.
Other finals
United routed Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon Friday 23-3. Saturday's United Baseball game versus Stark County has been moved up to a 2pm start time and will be played at Alexis.
Abingdon took care of West Prairie Friday 17-11.
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL
Sherrard shut out Galesburg Friday 11-0. Chloe Anderson game up 10 of the runs over two innings in the loss. The Streaks play Saturday morning versus Peoria Richwoods in an 11am double-header. The Sherrard J/V squad also routed the Streaks 17-1.
Danielle Williams had two hits including one home run, as the ROWVA Tigers defeated Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon 8-3. Megan Foglesong was the winning pitcher for the Lady Tigers. Kaitlin Akers gave up five runs in the loss for the Lady Spartans.
Saturday's United Softball game versus Stark County has been moved up to an 11am start time, and will be played at United High School.
HIGH SCHOOL TRACK
The host Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon Lady Spartans took top honors Friday at their annual invitational. ROWVA came in second, followed by Camp Point Central, Mercer County, West Central, and Astoria. On the men's side, Mercer County came in first, followed by the host Spartans, West Central, ROWVA, Camp Point Central, and Astoria.
