| Bears Take Cal Safety Conte |
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- The Chicago Bears chose safety Chris Conte of California in the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday night. He was the 93rd player taken overall. Conte played in 50 games for the Golden Bears and made 17 starts during his career. The 6-foot-3, 212-pound Conte was selected first-team All-Pac-10 last season while making 72 tackles.
