| Blackhawks Looking for Space Against Coyotes |
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Phoenix Coyotes camped out in Chicago's zone to set up goals in the second period and overtime of Game 1. The Blackhawks need to find a way to get the puck out or it could be a short series. Phoenix opened the best-of-seven series with a 3-2 victory Thursday night, using relentless pressure in Chicago's zone to set up Martin Hanzal's redirected game-winner 9:29 into overtime. The Coyotes used a similar tactic in the second period, creating long shifts to set up goals by Taylor Pyatt and Antoine Vermette. The Blackhawks dictated the pace in the first period and forced overtime with a last-second goal, but will need to cut down on turnovers and get the puck out of their zone better in Game 2 Saturday night.
