HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL
The Galesburg Silver Streaks dropped two games to Western Big 6 Conference foe Moline Saturday, 14-3 and 6-2. Moline scored 5 runs in each of the 4th and fifth innings to get the victory, and get Kaylee Mescher tagged with the loss, while Chelsey Howard got a home run. In game two, most of Moline's runs, and both of Galesburg's, came in the 6th inning. Johnna Smith got the loss for the Streaks. The Streaks will play Monday afternoon at East Peoria.
The GHS Sophomores lost to Moline 11-1, and 18-4.
ROWVA scored in every inning but the 5th in both games of a double-header Saturday against Ridgewood, winning game 1 10-0, and game 2 9-1. ROWVA is now 12-7 overall, and 8-4 in the Lincoln Trail Conference.
Knoxville lost to Beardstown 20 to 8 in 5 innings in the first game and beat Rushville 7 to 6 in 8 innings in the second game.
HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
Galesburg remains in a three-way tie atop the Western Big 6 Conference after splitting a double-header with Moline Saturday 4-2 and 4-0. Rock Island Alleman split a double-header with Rock Island Saturday to keep the three-way tie in tact. United Township and Rock Island are in a tie for fourth, while Quincy is the only winless team in the conference.
Mason Blickenstaff pitched a no-hitter in South Fulton's 13-0 rout of Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon Saturday in game one of a double-header. The Rebels also defeated the Spartans in game 2 14-1.
COLLEGE BASEBALL
Carl Sandburg College split a double-header with Illinois Valley, winning game 1 8-1, and losing game 2 4-3.
Knox College routed Monmouth College 16-2 in game 1, while also beating the Scots 3-2 in game 2 of a double-header. Monmouth College's Jordan Gaither did break up a no-hit bit by the Prairie Fire in game 1.

Grinnell wins its 12th Midwest Conference South Division title in a row while extending its winning streak in divisional play to 47 matches, dating back to 2000. Grinnell beat Monmouth College 5-4. |
