Michaels to Receive Scully Award for Broadcasting
NEW YORK (AP) -- Al Michaels will receive the Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting.

An Emmy Award winner and broadcaster on ''Sunday Night Football,'' Michaels will receive the award May 10 in New York. The 67-year-old Michaels spent nearly three decades at ABC Sports before moving to NBC in the 2007.

Michaels worked NFL games and other sports for ABC, and called ''Monday Night Football'' for nearly 20 years. He also is known for his calls of the U.S.-Soviet Union ''Miracle on Ice'' game at the 1980 Winter Olympics and the earthquake-interrupted Game 3 of the 1989 World Series.

The Scully award is named for the longtime Dodgers broadcaster. Scully helped form Fordham's radio station WFUV, which is the award's sponsor, and joined the Dodgers broadcast crew in 1950.
